The City of Tarkio Board of Aldermen held a special board meeting Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was conducted. Mayor Timothy Morehouse called the special meeting to order. Clerk Becky Jones gave roll call: aldermen Blu Dow, Scott Poppa, and Mike Klosek present, and alderman Andy Riley was running late. Visitors included Jesse Payne and Park Superintendent Chris Hogue.
Mayor Morehouse read Bill #231.19, Ordinance 217.19, by title, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 135 Procurement, Conflict Of Interest Chapter City Of Tarkio, Missouri. Dow made a motion to approve Bill #231.19, Ordinance 217.19. Klosek seconded the motion and Dow, Klosek, and Poppa were all ayes. Mayor Morehouse gave the second reading of Bill 231.19, Ordinance 217.19. Poppa made a motion to accept Bill 231.19, Ordinance 217.19 and the motion was seconded and approved. Bill #231.19, Ordinance 217.19 passed.
Mayor Morehouse read Bill #230.19, Ordinance 216.19 by title An Ordinance Adopting An Amended Budget For The City Of Tarkio’s Fiscal Year April 1, 2018, To March 31, 2019. Poppa made a motion to approve Bill #230.19, Ordinance 216.19. Klosek seconded the motion and Klosek, Dow, and Poppa were all ayes. Mayor Morehouse gave the second reading of Bill #230.19, Ordinance 216.19. Klosek made a motion to approve Bill #230.19, Ordinance 216.19 and the motion was seconded ad approved. Bill #230.19 Ordinance 216.19 passed.
Riley arrived at 5:10 p.m.
The Midwest Data Wi-Fi installation quote for the Community Building was read over by Mayor Morehouse. Klosek made a motion to accept the quote of $539.70 for installation of the Wi-Fi. The motion was seconded and approved.
Dow made a motion to go into executive session as provided for under Section 610.021(3) of the Revised Statutes of Missouri for hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting of particular employees by a public governmental body. Klosek seconded the motion and the motion was approved.
Executive session was held. Riley made a motion to close executive session and bring their vote with them.Dow seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Jesse Payne was hired at $12.00 per hour to work 30 hours per week for the Parks Department. The meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
