A rollover crash in Atchison County sent six people, including four children, to the hospital March 5, 2019. A 2007 Nissan minivan, driven by Alisha R. Sachs, 33, of Tarkio, Missouri, was headed southbound on I-29, three miles east of Watson, Missouri, at 8:55 p.m. when the front passenger tire deflated causing the van to skid out of control. The van slid off the west side of the southbound lane, struck a water filled ditch, and overturned coming to rest on its top.
Sachs, who was not wearing a seatbelt, received minor injuries and was taken to Community Hospital-Fairfax by Atchison-Holt ambulance. Also taken to the hospital by Atchison-Holt ambulance was Mark Sachs, 31, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and four children, Riley Sachs, age 10, Aubrey Sachs, age 9, Raelynn Sachs, age 8, and Mark Sachs, age four, all who were buckled in.
The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. S.M. Hux, who was assisted by Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri Dept. of Conservation, Rock Port Police Department, and Rock Port Fire Dept.
