The Rock Port Tourism Board met Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. at the Rock Port City Park. Members present were Jennifer Alvarez, Mike Farmer, Holly Huntley, Tami Lansdown, and Angela Mace. Members absent were Kallie Sherwood, Chris Shimmel, and Jody Vansickle. Also present was City Clerk Emily Schulte.
The meeting agenda was approved.
The minutes of the July 9, 2020, meeting were approved.
The July 2020 financials were also approved.
The board discussed the purchase of new Christmas decorations for the town. They unanimously approved spending up to $75,000 on city holiday decor.
Tami has talked to a potential member.
A new contract for bid specs for turbine site maintenance was discussed. Board members voted to approve the city attorney writing up a bid spec and contract.
Mike will be preparing the logo competition advertisement.
The Quilt Show / Vendor Market will be cancelled this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
The board also approved getting quotes for a new website.
