The City of Fairfax Board of Aldermen held a regular meeting March 17, 2021. The meeting was called to order by Michael Oswald, alderman, at 6:34 p.m. Also present were: Kristi Duering and Tabitha Wintz, aldermen; John Brown, Water Superintendent; Lori Helfers, City Clerk; Danny Kemerling, Treasurer.

Ryan Kingery, mayor, joined the meeting at 6:40 p.m.

The tentative agenda was approved.

The aldermen approved the regular minutes of February 24, 2021.

They also approved accounts payable.

Old Business–

Discussion was held concerning MFA putting in monitoring wells. It was the consensus of the board to respectfully decline.

STAFF REPORTS–

Danny Kemerling presented his Treasurer’s report showing that all accounts are in balance.

Lori Helfers asked the council about city-wide clean-up day. After a brief discussion it was decided to rent a dumpster for the residents of Fairfax to use. It will be available April 30 and May 1.

John Brown gave a report on the progress of the lagoons.

There was also a discussion about hiring seasonal help for weed eating, mowing, and other jobs as needed. The aldermen voted to hire one position starting at minimum wage for seasonal help.

The next meeting will be April 14 at 6:30 p.m.
