The history of Nebraska City is captured in artwork (above and below) by Patricia L. Chisholm.

Patricia L. Chisholm is the featured artist for the month of January in the Kimmel Gallery at the Morton-James Public Library.
As a graduate of Lourdes Central High School, Nebraska City has always been home to Chisholm. Even as a veteran of the U.S. Army and traveling all over the U.S. and Europe, there was definitely “no place like home.”
“Never being a student of art, I began to sketch in 2005. Watching John Muir Laws videos, (and several others), I became a self-taught student. I kept practicing over the years to where I am today. Architecture is my favorite, yet I enjoy the farm scenes of country life. I always think of all those who are dear to me, but so very far away,” Chisholm said.
In this display, Chisholm wanted to capture the history of Nebraska City; thus the theme: “Nebraska City, then and now.” The artist truly hopes the public enjoys “this walk down memory lane” as she has.
The exhibit is free and open to the public until January 28, during regular library hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The library will be closed January 25 for annual inventory.
