Pitch Club met Tuesday, January 11, at Deb Johnson’s house in Rock Port. After several weeks off for the holidays, the ladies jumped right back into card playing mode pretty quickly! Those present were Norma Bradfield, Martha Shaffer, Susan Braams, Janell McQuinn, Merylan Lowrey, Pam Cooper and Deb. Georgia Gilley was absent so Vickie Smith filled in for her.

Spirits were high as the holiday discussions covered a plethora of topics, to include the newest phone scams, strangers at the doors, and phone calls from loved ones as far away as the other side of the globe!  Norma is very hopeful that her grandson will be home eating some of his favorite pie before summer! All of us agree it will be good when he gets back, Norma!

After six games of play, high score went to Deb Johnson, second high to Pam Cooper and low scorer was Susan Braams, but she did see time at the high table! Good job, Susan!

A variety pack of dessert was served to include chocolate, carrot, caramel and red velvet cakes with vanilla and chocolate ice cream.  By far, the most fun filled conversation came after eating when we took a jaunt down memory lane to several locations in the county, at which point we had laughs galore over where houses were located that are no longer there and who lived in them as well as who has bought whose house through the years! I’m sure you know how that conversation went with a bunch of who, what, and wheres. Vickie Smith had to keep us all in the right road at the right time.

Georgia, we’re sorry you missed out on the talk, but be ready because Pam’s taking us all on a road trip around the county soon, just to locate all these places; like the white tower, and the soft dirt road that used to lead to somewhere!  Needless to say the ladies had a great time!
