Reginald Bret Koop, the son of Jake and Esta (Lamb) Koop of Ackley, Iowa, was born on October 16, 1960, in Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Reggie attended and graduated from Ackley Geneva High School, Ackley, in 1979. He graduated college from The University of Northern Iowa in 1983, with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts, with an emphasis on Carpentry and Building Trades. He also enjoyed being a coach of several sports.

On August 4, 1984, Reggie was united in marriage to Julie Ann Hafner of Fairfax, Missouri. They became parents to two children, Jessica (Harold) Ray of Savannah, Missouri, and Ryan (Jaymee) Koop of Fairfax.

Reggie enjoyed his career as a teacher, carpenter and later as a pastor. Teaching was his passion whether it be how to build a house, or how to live a life according to Christ.

Reggie was a devoted husband, father, papa, and friend. He loved spending time with his family, traveling to Branson with his wife and getting in trouble with the grandkids. Reggie passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022, at his home in Fairfax, at the age of 61.

Reggie was preceded in death by his father, Jake Koop, and grandparents. Survivors include wife, Julie Koop, Fairfax; daughter, Jessica (Harold) Ray, Savannah, and son Ryan (Jaymee) Koop, Fairfax; grandchildren, Riley Koop, Zachary Koop, Madison Ray, and Sadie Ray; mother, Esta Koop, Ackley, Iowa; sister, Lisa (John) Moorhouse, Kilkenny, Minnesota; brother Todd (Kristin) Koop, Granger, Iowa; brother-in-law, Kevin (Paula) Hafner, Disputanta, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Reg was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2022, First Baptist Church, Hamburg, Iowa, where Reggie was a pastor.  Open visitation began at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, Missouri, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, Hamburg, Watson Baptist Church, Watson, Missouri, or Inter Church Council, Hamburg.
