Evaline L. Riley, the daughter of Emmett and Nora R. (Turner) Vance, was born May 22, 1927, in Tarkio, Missouri. She attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio.

On May 26, 1951, Evaline was united in marriage to Willis Riley in Maryville, Missouri. They became the parents of four children, Patty, Vickie, Roger, and Kathie. The couple made their home in Tarkio. Willis passed away in 1991.

Evaline was a homemaker, while caring for her children, and she also worked numerous jobs. She ironed clothes, worked at numerous restaurants, and wallpapered/painted houses. Due to health concerns, Evaline was forced to retire.

Evaline attended Assembly of God Church, Tarkio. She enjoyed listening to the scanner and doing word search puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up. Evaline passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, at the age of 95.

Besides her parents and husband, Willis Riley, Evaline was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Ted Simmons and Ken Bell; siblings, Paul, Robert, Darrell, and Norman Vance, Roberta Mae Vance, Margaret Hannah, Alice Campbell, Dorothy Ballinger, and Irene Smith; and half siblings, Don and Roy Vance, and Reva Wright. Survivors include children, Patty (Dave) Kemerling, Rock Port, Missouri, Vickie Simmons, Fairfax, Missouri, Roger (Melanie) Riley, Fairfax, and Kathie Reynolds, Rock Port; grandchildren, Nick (Jonnie) Kemerling, Aaron (Bambi) Simmons, Cole Simmons, Troy (Michaela) Simmons, and Jill (Alex) Wheatley; great-grandchildren, Rylie, Dylan, Drue, Payton, Brooks, Kenna, Kelly, and Kinley; great-great-grandchildren, Paisleigh and Liam; siblings, David Vance, Tarkio, Martha Gibbons, Platte City, Missouri, and Mary Hope, Tarkio; amd numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and inurnment were held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to Fairfax First Responders, P.O. Box 245, Fairfax, MO 64446.
