Pearl Elaine (Park) Burns, age 59, Tarkio, Missouri, died Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Tarkio.

Pearl was born April 21, 1964, in Fairfax, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Wayman Dale and Lois Ann (Johnson) Park.

Pearl was a 1982 graduate of Fairfax High School, Fairfax, Missouri. She also graduated Cum Laude from Tarkio College with a B.S. in Creative Writing. Pearl taught middle and high school English at Craig R-III High School in Craig, Missouri.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Pearl also spent many volunteer hours organizing what is now Tarkio Technical Institute in Tarkio. She was an active member of the Tarkio College Alumni Association to preserve the legacy of Tarkio College.

Pearl was preceded in death by parents and husband, Thomas Burns, III. Survivors include her children, daughter, Tirzah Vogler, High Point, North Carolina, son, Daniel (KC Hines) Vogler, Fairfax, and daughter, Jasmine (Cody Tschida) Vogler, Shenandoah, Iowa; six grandchildren, Kaydin, Declan, Caiden, Killian, Esmé, and Damin; a sister, Patti Rasmussen, Jones, Oklahoma; and a host of other friends and loved ones.

Mrs. Burns’ body has been cremated under the care of the Schooler Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life reception will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post in Tarkio. Inurnment will follow in the Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
