The Tarkio Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call of an attic fire at the Goodin residence at 612 Broad Street in Tarkio on Sunday, May 19, 2024. The fire started due to faulty wiring. Although the family acted quickly to kill power and stop the fire, the firemen found more hot spots once they made entry so more water was applied to extinguish it completely. A total of 11 firemen and four trucks responded to the scene, as well as Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service, Tarkio Police Department, and Atchison County Sheriff’s Office. (Submitted photos)
