Ag Partners Cooperative, Inc.  in Tarkio welcomes Jared Grimes as the new manager of the facility, located at 1st and Main streets. Mr. Grimes began his duties September 11, 2025.

Jared should be a familiar face to many, as he was a 2015 Tarkio High School graduate. He spent some time away, most recently managing a south Texas propane location for a Texas company. Now living in Burlington Junction, Missouri, with his wife and two kids, Jared is looking forward to working in Atchison County, being “home” again and serving his hometown community.

Ag Partners in Tarkio has continued to be an important piece of the area’s agricultural scene for over 60 years, storing and selling corn and soybeans, and selling feed, mineral, and salt for livestock and for sidewalks. Ag Partners has grown exponentially in the last few years following its relocation in 2018 from the south side of town to 1st and Main streets. On the 62nd anniversary of its start of business, Ag Partners opened its newly completed 3 million bushel corn storage facility, something no place in Tarkio had provided up to that point. Ag Partners also provides two bean bins for soybean storage up to 347,000 bushels apiece.

Harvest is now in full swing, having been slowed down a bit in the beginning due to rain. But Mr. Grimes is expecting business to increase in the next few weeks as farmers bring in their corn and soybeans to be stored. Along with three other employees, he also plans to implement some new things. During harvest, Ag Partners is open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday (weather permitting). Mr. Grimes also plans staying busy implementing some new things at the Tarkio facility that others have found success at. As the services expand, the number of employees may also grow.

With Ag Partners, business at the bottom of Main Street is booming and Tarkio is proud to not only have such a state-of-the-art facility keeping our area farmers going, but also a friendly, hometown manager running the show.
