A pink-out volleyball event will be held Tuesday, October 14, at the Tarkio Activity Center when the East Atchison Lady Wolves take on the South Holt Lady Knights at 5:30 p.m. Kids’ Korner students will be reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to start the night off. Proceeds from a bake sale and an auction of a pink and white autographed volleyball will be donated to locals fighting cancer.

Join the Atchison County Library for family fun, story time, crafts, and snacks at the Third Thursdays event at the Tarkio Library at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 16.

School will not be in session at Tarkio R-I Thursday, October 16. Thursday morning will be a PD day and then parent/teacher conferences will take place from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. No school will be held on Friday, October 17 or Monday, October 20.

East Atchison senior volleyball players and their parents will be recognized during the volleyball games against Mound City Thursday, October 16, at Fairfax. Games begin at 5:30 p.m.

A pink-out football event will take place Friday, October 17, during East Atchison’s high school game against Stewartsville/Osborn at 7:00 p.m. in Tarkio. The senior football players, cheerleaders, golfers, cross country runners, and band members and their parents will also be recognized in a senior night ceremony that night. Following the game, a “5th Quarter” party for junior high and high school students will be held at A Place On Main, 509 Main Street in Tarkio, with free-play arcade games and $5 pizza and pop.

The Tarkio Scout Troop 88 will host a lunch this Sunday to raise funds to attend Sea Base, a high-adventure scouting program held in the Florida Keys. A free-will offering lunch will be held Sunday, October 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a drive-through only event and will be held in the Tarkio Elementary School parking lot.

Liberty Theatre will present a Halloween Spooktacular from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Atchison County Memorial Building in Rock Port. All ages are invited to come enjoy a trick-or-treat trail, pumpkin painting, games, and more for a free-will donation!
