The Tarkio Chamber of Commerce sponsored a ribbon cutting at Stoner Morgan Services in Tarkio on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Located at the intersection of Walnut Street (Hwy. 136) and 1st Street, the business is owned by Ronnie and Tamara Stoner of Rock Port, Missouri, and managed by Joshua Morgan of Fairfax, Missouri. Trina Daise, also of Fairfax, is the bookkeeper.

Ronnie’s story of how he came to be the new owner is an interesting one. Awhile back, he stopped at that location, that was then owned by someone else, to see if he could get air put in his vehicle tires. That owner said he was wanting to sell the business, so Ronnie, who had worked alongside his family in gas stations for years, asked him what the selling price was and that was that. Ronnie bought it. The shop opened under the new owner, management, and name in September of this year.

Stoner Morgan Services offers basic car services such as oil changes, tire replacement, tune-ups, etc., and also works on boats, ATVs, UTVs, and lawn mowers. They also sell semi truck tires. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and can be reached by calling 660-853-1341.
