On Wednesday, April 19, 2017 a crowd of 20 gathered outside the water production plant for a dedication ceremony. Board member and presiding commissioner Curt Livengood welcomed everyone to the newly named Kyra K. Mills Water Treatment Facility. The board felt that this was only appropriate after all of the time Kyra dedicated to the wholesale project to name the plant after her. “Kyra was the driving force behind the project making countless trips to Jefferson City and area meetings along with keeping everyone on task,” said plant manager Dennis Chitwood.
