Two East Atchison Wolves football players were recently recognized for achieving Academic All Star. Shae DeRosier, a junior, and Mason Straub, a senior, were named to the 8-man Missouri Academic All-State Football Team.
Nominations must meet the following criteria: (1) Player must be nominated by their head coach, who must be a current member of the Missouri 8-Man Football Coaches Association; (2) Player must be a starter on offense/defense or be a punter or a kicker in 70% of games; and (3) Must be sophomore, junior, or senior. Nominations must also meet two of the next three criteria: (1) Must score a 25 or higher on ACT or 1740 on the SAT; (2) Have a 3.5 GPA or higher (GPA must be nonweighted) at the beginning of the school year; and (3)Must rank in top 10% or top three of his/her class at the beginning of the school year.
