As we ring in the New Year, Farmer Publishing will be making a change to the publication of the three newspapers in Atchison County. Beginning with the January 5, 2017, weekly edition, Farmer Publishing will publish one newspaper, the Atchison County Mail. Although the publication will carry the name of Atchison County Mail, the combination paper will serve as a continuation of all three county weeklies. We will print each newspaper’s banner within the pages, along with space dedicated to each town and school’s activities and events. We will continue to have staffed offices open in both Fairfax and Tarkio for community members to drop off stories, pictures and payments; as well as coverage for local events.
Local advertisers will be able to reach out to the entire county by advertising in one paper. The current pricing to run in all 3 papers and go countywide is $14 per column inch. With the new year and new paper, advertisers will be able to place an ad that will go countywide for $7 per column inch, cutting the existing cost in half. Classified advertising will be $7.50 per column inch and costs for legals will be $9.50 per column inch. Be sure to take part in the great advertising deal for the January 5, 2017, paper. Display ads will be $5 per column inch and half price color for display ads will be $65 (January 5th only).
