The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry Board met September 13, 2016, with 16 members and two guests present. Churches represented at the meeting were Tarkio Assembly of God, Presbyterian, and First Christian Churches, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Westboro Methodist Church, Fairfax Presbyterian, Baptist, and Methodist Churches. Guests were Cathy Davis, Community Services, and Joan Stevens, Ministerial Alliance.
In July, 83 individuals representing 46 families were served. In August, 94 individuals representing 51 families were assisted. Recertification papers for clients will be available November 8, and will be due back by January 1, 2017.
The food pantry schedule for the months of November and December was set. Due to the holidays the food pantry will open one week early in each of those months. The food pantry will be open November 8, 10, 15, and 17, as well as December 13, 15, 20, and 22. Clients should be mindful of these earlier November and December openings.
The Tarkio Presbyterian Church is responsible for opening the food pantry in September. The Tarkio Methodist Church will open the food pantry in October. The food pantry will be open the third and fourth Tuesday and Thursday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. The food pantry is also open the third Tuesday of each month in the evenings from 7 to 8:00 p.m.
The next meeting of the Food Pantry Board will be Monday, November 7, at 9:30 a.m. The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry is located at 415 Main Street in Tarkio, Missouri.
