Greetings, Blue Jay Nation! Last Friday concluded another great Homecoming week for the Blue Jays. Students, teachers, and community members rallied to put together a memorable experience for all. Thank you to all for your collective commitment to our students and school!
The school calendar is full, as usual, with many events that patrons of our community can attend to show continued support for our students. Please remember that this calendar is viewable on our school website ( www.rockport.k12.mo.us).
On Monday, Sept. 19, Rock Port’s K-12 teachers will travel to Northwest Missouri State University to participate in a wonderful professional learning opportunity with 12 of the other 15 schools in our newly combined 275 Conference. There will be upwards of 400 teachers participating in this day of learning. This day will include Breakout Sessions for professional learning, as well as Networking Sessions so that teachers can continue their conversations with other teachers in their grade level areas and content areas. Rock Port is proud to have Thomas Herron presenting in a Breakout Session on using Google Classroom, and Stevie Eickhoff, Marty Farley, Jen Geib, Crystal Goins, and Thomas Herron will be facilitating Network Sessions in the afternoon in their respective grade levels/content areas. We are so proud of these teachers for assuming these leadership positions at this exciting event!
Parents/Guardians, please remember that on Monday, Sept. 19, Rock Port R-II Schools will not be in session. Also, Friday, Sept. 23, marks Mid-Quarter for our students. As always, please do not hesitate to communicate with your students’ teachers and administrators should you have questions and/or concerns.
Here’s to keeping the momentum going on a positive and successful school year! Thank you again for the continued support for our awesome students. We are beyond blessed!
GO BIG BLUE!!!
Sincerely, Jonnie Kemerling
