A two vehicle accident left two people seriously injured on Saturday. Atchison County Emergency personel responded to a two vehicle accident September 10 at 5:20 p.m. on US Hwy 136 and D Hwy approximately four miles west of Rock Port. Trooper K.L Ebersold with the assistance of Trooper J.W. Cotter worked the scene where they reported that the 1997 Subaru Legacy heading east was being driven by William G. Robbins, 65 and his passenger Paula Robbins, 64 of Fairbury, Nebraska. Mr. Robbins was attempting to turn north on Route D when the 1997 Ford F-150 driven by Todd Tanner, 28 of Kansas City, Missouri attempted to pass Robbins. In the attempt, Tanner’s vehicle struck the rear driver side of the Subaru causing it to come to a rest on the north shoulder of US 136 facing east and the Ford F-150 came to rest on the north shoulder of US 136 facing west. All those involved were wearing their seat bealts. Tanner refused treatment at the scene but W. Robbins was taken by Atchison-Holt EMS to Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, Nebraska while his occupant P. Robbins was taken by Lifenet Air Ambulance to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
