The Atchison-Holt Unit of MRTA (Missouri Retired Teachers Association and Public School Personnel) met on June 2, 2016, at Community Hospital-Fairfax with 22 in attendance. After a meal, prepared by the food service folks at Community Hospital-Fairfax, the meeting was held. New retirees in attendance were recognized.
Gail Heitman presented the program for the day. She talked about the Senior Life Solutions program available for senior citizens through the hospital.
The next meeting will be September 1 at the Grill in Oregon. The program for the meeting will be presented by Gayle Stowers from Second Harvest.
The Missouri Retired Teachers Association and Public School Personnel, organized in 1960, is the only educational organization in Missouri working exclusively for retired school personnel. MRTA will work actively with the government and its entities for beneficial legislation.
