The First Presbyterian Church will host an old-fashioned community church service Sunday, June 4, at the old depot building in commemoration of the Fairfax sesquicentennial celebration.
Junior high and high school students earning perfect attendance for the 2005-2006 school year were Dyllan Mattly, Jill Riley, Cory Bungenstock, Tommy Shepard, Aaron Scarbrough, Daltyn Burke, Michael Graves, Kaylyn Sly and Courtney Stout.
More than 100 cyclists will be riding in the annual Border Raiders bicycle tour June 3-10. The group will once again be stopping in Fairfax at the city park for lunch and then make their way to Maryville.

Fairfax Junior Girl Scout Troop #262 recently presented a unique handmade book, “ABC-123,” to Dr. James K. Hunter’s medical office. Each girl completed several pages individually to earn a books badge. Girl Scouts are: Amanda Burke, Carrie Bradfield, Kenna Demott, Julie Hunter, Jody Hawkins, Misty Hendrix, Sonya Nemyer, Bambi Brown, Amber Oswald, Courtney Davis, Patty Heitman, Trudy Heitman, and Mary Chastain.
Hunter’s advertised the following specials: boneless beef rump roast, $1.99 per pound; Wesson oil, 24-ounce bottle, 99¢; broccoli, 89¢ per bunch; and Jell-o instant pudding, 59¢.

Among the many who came Friday to congratulate Harry Emrick on his 25th anniversary with the Exchange Bank of Fairfax was one of the original organizers and stockholders, W.K. White, now of St. Joseph, Missouri.
Judges with the Fairfax Garden Club chose the lawn of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Martin to be posted as “Lawn of the Month.”
Cooperative weather has resulted in great progress on the school lunchroom addition. Completion is anticipated before the fall term begins.
Mr. and Mrs. William C. Creed of Fairfax announced the approaching marriage of their daughter, Kay Frances, to Willis Clark Cofer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Cofer, Fairfax. The ceremony will take place in the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church Sunday, June 12.
