The October 4, 2016, William White Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting was called to order by Regent, Annamarie Hunziger, at Breadeaux Pizza in Mound City, with 10 members and 2 guests present. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America was recited and the National Anthem, led by Donna Kunkel, was sung by all. Prayer was given by Chaplain Karen Fischer. Assorted pizzas were served for lunch.
Regent Hunziger honored several members in a Celebration of Membership program. Length of membership certificates were presented to the following: Rosalee Seymour, 60 years; Janet Gottsch, 60 years (absent); Mari Ferguson, 40 years; Sydney Cooper, 40 years (absent); Betty Bussard, 25 years; and Sarah Messmer, 25 years (both absent); and Annamarie Hunziger, 10 years. These ladies were commended for their years of membership to our Chapter.
The DAR ritual was them completed, reciting the American’s Creed, Preamble of Allegiance to the State of Missouri and Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Chaplain Fischer gave a short devotion – “Irish Wisdom”.
The Constitution Minute was read by Ruth Rother. The Indian Minute was given by Carolyn Fansher.
The minutes of the September 3, meeting were reviewed and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was approved and filed for audit.
Annamarie Hunziger and Susan Rippen attended the DAR District Meeting in Brookfield on September 23. We received a 100% Chapter Participation Certificate and a Level 2 Chapter Achievement Award.
Donna Kunkel was elected into membership of William White Chapter. Her application will be processed for membership.
After all business was discussed, Regent Hunziger adjourned the meeting. Members then traveled to Tarkio to the United Methodist Church to look at paintings on the walls in the Church which had been completed by former French and Spanish teacher Connie Crapson. Ruth Rother had arranged for this tour and was enjoyed by all who attended.
