The Tuesday Evening Club met Tuesday afternoon, November 8, at my house. It was a beautiful day for November and it was election day. That meant that two of our members were working at the election stations so we were glad that Kay Rosenbohm and Sharon Smith could substitute for them.
The session began with iPhone photos of two new babies born into our pitch family. After considerable ooh-ing and aahing, the games began with new cards from Branson, Missouri. It was nice to know our members remembered us when vacationing, even though the new cards brought several shuffling mishaps. I won high score, being rescued several times by my partners, Martha Shaffer won second high, and Janell McQuinn, low.
I was hostess and served what my mother called poor man’s cake accompanied by an ice cream cup. The chit chat was about cheesey potatoes for the church celebration, deer encounters, and who was bringing what for the Christmas party since we only have one meeting in November and December. I could always work in another pitch game but will have to make do with my computer for a partner. Give thanks for this high tech world!
