The Watson Quilters took a break during the holidays, but expect to get back at it this week, if it’s not too cold
Dr. Steve Donald, Chatom, AL. spent last week with Kay and Tom Gibson. Other out of town visitors were Sarah Washburn and Terry Mueller, Stoddard, WI.
NEW YEAR
The beginning of the New Year has come and gone. Towards the end of January begins the Chinese New Year.
2017 is the year of the rooster.
I don’t want to ruffle any feathers, or make anyone mad as an old wet setting hen, but I believe 2017 would be a good year for you young chicks to get a nest egg started. I know you are trying to scratch out a living, but if only it’s chicken feed, do try to stash some away. After it incubates for a while, it will come in handy in fowl weather.
As for us old biddies, we may not be spring chicks, but we can still feather our nest a little, too. We’re not dumb clucks, we’ll just get up with the chickens and keep working. We don’t have to stay cooped up all the time either, fly the coop, attend all those hen parties. Enjoy life. Wing it, girls, wing it.
Let’s make 2017 a year to crow about.
