The TEC Club met on Valentine’s Day at the Gilley residence and it was a sweetheart of a day for February: warm, sunny, and except for various health issues, a good day for pitch. Debbie Johnson, Margie O’Riley, and Suzanne Southard substitued for those missing.
Suzanne won high score, Merylan Lowrey won second high, and Martha Shaffer, low. Pam Cooper was hostess, but at the last moment she was attacked by that bug that we can’t see or hear, but really feel when it attacks us; so we met at my house, with Pam furnishing the good stuff she already prepared: a luscious cheesecake covered with strawberries, or cherries, and decorated with a white chocolate covered pretzel with sparkly red sprinkles. All these supplies transported by her husband to my kitchen. After all, it was Valentine’s Day. She also had a small box of hearts, those with sayings on them, and I thought that would start the crazy talk, but I had used crocheted placemats my mom had made years before, and that recalled many memories of needlecraft from years ago. Would you know what a tatting shuttle looks like? Mom used to tat the edges of our pillow slips. Does anyone ever look at your pillowslips? Makes one think, doesn’t it?
