By Kay Gibson
The Watson Quilters finally decided to have a meeting on Thursday night. It’s either been snow, bitter cold, or some of us sick. Rough winter. However, Tami Oakes, Donna Whelan, Francis Nahkunst, Holly Holmes, Anita Armstrong, Linda Viets, and Kay Gibson made it. Tami had quilted Frances’ quilt that went with Tami’s story, so we got to see it. Donna is working on the house quilt. Donna had also made one of the strip rugs and brought it to show us. Holly had one that she needed our help to put together. So Anita started sewing on it. We had a busy night and it was good to see everyone.
The Jackson Holmes benefit has been moved to March 16 at 5:00 p.m. You still have time to buy raffle tickets. See Gib Holmes. This benefit will be at the Watson Baptist Outreach Building.
CHINESE NEW YEAR
Don’t go hog wild, but the Chinese New Year is the year of the pig.
You might have been born in the year of the pig… If you like to make a hog of yourself.
You might have been born in the year of the pig… If you have a ring in your nose . . . to keep down the rooting.
You might have been born in the year of the pig…If you like to ham it up.
You might have been born in the year of the pig…If you are scared of the big bad wolf.
You might have been born in the year of the pig…If you like to zip line. Yeah, when pigs fly.
Me, I was born in the year of the sheep and it’s not so baaaaad.
