Slick roads continue to be a problem for drivers traveling through Atchison County. A 2013 Kenworth T800, driven by Eric J. Starr, 39, of Raytown, Missouri, wrecked on I-29 at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019. The accident occurred four miles north of Corning, Missouri, at northbound mile-marker 101.2, when the semi was driving on a snow covered interstate and slid. The truck slid off the west side of I-29 into the median and jack-knifed, coming to rest facing southwest on its wheels in the median.
Starr, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mosaic Life Care by an Atchison-Holt ambulance. The 2013 Kenworth T-800 received extensive damage and was secured on the scene. The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C.J. Blue, who was assisted by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department.
