The Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxiliary’s February meeting was held on February 21, 2019, in the conference room at the hospital. The meeting opened with 15 members and 5 guests reciting the Auxiliary Prayer.

The minutes from the January meeting and the treasurer’s report were given and approved as presented.

We were fortunate to have Jackie Martin present. Members of the auxiliary could have Jackie take their blood pressure. She also distributed helpful information about blood pressure. Ann Schlueter was also present. She discussed the hospital’s vision and hopes to develop a healing garden between the Senior Life Solutions Building and the hospital. This garden would be a wonderful addition to our hospital’s landscape. Our organization could see the benefit to patients, staff, and visitors. We later voted to donate $10,000 to the project. The money will be given to the hospital in two increments. We are looking forward to spring and watching the garden grow!

In spite of several date changes due to weather, we had another successful chili/soup supper.  The generous donations of time, food, and money from our members and all those who attended are greatly appreciated. We are especially grateful to Eric at Tarkio Hy-Vee and Steve and Julie Joesting for their large donations.

The Sunshine Corner Gift shop has been recently transformed. The winter items are gone and new spring items have taken their place. We hope you’ll remember to check it out soon. As always, all proceeds from the gift shop and our other fund raisers benefit equipment purchases for Community Hospital-Fairfax.

Ann Martin is now taking money and reservations from Auxiliary members for the Celebrity Waiter Dinner tickets. The tickets are $30 each. The dinner is March 16, 2019. We hope you will put this date on your calendar too. It’s another great way to support our local hospital.
