The Atchison County Multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update Kick-off Meeting was held on February 26, 2019. The Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments conducted the meeting with city and county officials, emergency management agencies, school leaders, stakeholders and other interested individuals to introduce the planning process for the 2020 Atchison County Multi-jurisdictional Haz-ard Mitigation Plan.

The Risk Assessment Meeting will be held on April 16, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the University of Missouri Extension/Velma Houts Building in Rock Port, Missouri. During this meeting, a summary will be provided of the draft risk assessment. Participants will be requested to contribute to the review, and they will also help update the plan goals that provide the basis for the mitigation strategy portion of the plan. The planning committee will begin the process of updating the status of the hazard mitigation Action Items that were included in the 2015 Hazard Mitigation Plan for Atchison County.
