The Pitch Club met Tuesday, March 12, at Martha’s Bed and Breakfast with all members present despite a few rain drops; we were just happy we didn’t have to cancel again. Everything was green for St. Pat’s. We were presented with sparkly green beads just in case anyone had forgotten to wear green.

With green popcorn, etc. for snacks, Deb Johnson had the luck of the Irish winning high. Merylan Lowrey, our hostess, won second high and Pam Cooper had low. Merylan had set the table with shamrock designed plates and served a St. Pat’s trifle: a layer of brownie  pieces, pistachio pudding, mint oreos and Cool Whip sprinkled with clover shaped candies. My, what a treat. We put our coffee cups on “mug rugs,” a coaster she had handmade. She demonstrated how anyone could do it with four pieces of  different fabrics and a sewing machine. Well, maybe?

The chatter turned to what everyone is talking about now, potholes and flood dangers. I’m talking about mud. My gravel has taken a leave of absence. Some members were involved with music contests and County Government Day and all the other spring activities coming soon. And with the Luck of the Irish, Spring will come SOON!
