The Northwest Missouri Sportsman’s Club sponsored a virtual check station for youth turkey weekend.
Four Atchison County hunters posted pictures of their turkeys on the club’s Facebook page: Ryzer Hale, John Gillem, Brett Long, and Cameron Oswald.
Ryzer was the winner of NMSC’s drawing for a Mossberg 500 Classic 12 gauge rifle.
According to preliminary data from Missouri Department of Conservation, young turkey hunters harvested 2,540 turkeys in Missouri during the 2019 spring youth season, April 6 and 7.
Spring turkey hunting continues with the upcoming regular spring turkey hunting season April 15 through May 5.

Ryzer Hale knocked down his first gobbler, a 23 pound tom with a 9″ beard and 1″ spurs.

Ryzer Hale won a Mossberg 500 Classic 12 gauge during the NMSC Youth Turkey event.

Brett Long’s gobbler weighed 24 1/2 pounds and had an 11″ beard and 1 1/4″ spurs.

Cameron Oswald harvested a nice bird sporting a 10″ beard and 1″ spurs.
