Area high school students who are in the Upward Bound program at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, were recognized in an awards ceremony held Wednesday, July 3, 2019. Those honored included: Outstanding Math Student – Taylor Stanton and Brianna Maxwell; Outstanding English Student – Lexi White and Alieah Kendrick; Outstanding Science Student – Stephen Henggeler and Jordyn Suchan; All-American – Brylie Rodrick; Epic Historian – Hunter Bennett; El Estudiante Ejemplar Award – Lydia Dokken; La Estudiante Avanzada Award – Mercedes Gilliland; ACT “Preppy” Award – Kristin Butrum and Devin Guajardo; All Academic Award – Mercedes Gilliland; Residential Achievement Award – Kas Brady and TJ Rogers; Outstanding Rising Sophomore – Morgan Shaw and Khale McDermott; Outstanding Rising Junior – Erin Cook and Jon Rohr; Outstanding Rising Senior – TJ Rogers and Maggie Calfee; Outstanding Bridge Student – Alexis Simmerman and Tillie Stanton; and All Upward Bound – Khale McDermott and Skye Clark.
