The Rock Port Tourism Board met Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at Rock Port City Hall. Members present were Mike Farmer, Holly Huntley, Diana Liess, Tami Lansdown and Jody Vansickle. Members absent were Mandy Herron, Chris Shimmel, and Angela Mace. Also present was Emily Schulte, City Clerk.
Diana Liess called the meeting to order. The meeting agenda was approved.
Board members voted to approve the May 7, 2019, meeting minutes, and the May 2019 financials.
The empty Tourism Board position was discussed. Jennifer Alvarez has applied for the position and will be considered at the next Board of Aldermen meeting. Board members voted to recommend Jennifer’s approval to the Board of Aldermen.
Holly discussed the 4th of July volleyball tournament. More teams are still needed, as well as help getting hoses, coolers, and grilling the hamburgers and hot dogs. Holly also discussed needing to purchase food for the event. Chris has the inflatables for the park taken care of. Board members voted to approve Holly purchasing food and supplies for the volleyball tournament.
The turbine site is in need of being mowed. Bid specs need to be discussed at the next meeting.
