The Rock Port Park Board met on Monday, July 22, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at the Rock Port City Park. Members present were: Shauna Farmer, Lisa Farmer, Tawni Ellis, Sheena Roup, Jill Lager, Katey Kroeger and Devon Sons. Tish Jackson was absent.
Lisa Farmer called the meeting to order. The meeting agenda and the July 2, 2019, meeting minutes were approved. The June financials were also approved.
• Selling of park tractor and finishing mower: Big Iron has been in contact with Katey and will be coming to Rock Port as soon as time allows to assess the equipment.
• 4th of July: Everything went well. A discussion was had about having a booth set up next year.
• Movie Night: Tabled
• Empty Park Board Position: The Park Board would appreciate having a male to replace Greg Young’s open position. Clint Dougherty has expressed interest to several members. Clint has young children who utilize the park for several activities. The board voted to recommend Clint to the Board of Aldermen as a replacement for Greg.
• Pool Update: The baby gate lock needs to be replaced. The pool will be open daily until August 11. The pool will stay open August 17 and 18 for a final weekend of swimming.
• Park Update: A dead tree on the golf course has fallen on the fence and broken three railings. The Country Club Board was notified and told us that the city was notified a while back and would not give the Country Club Board the OK to cut down the tree.
Weed eating needs to be done around the shelter houses, park equipment and tennis courts.
• Other Business: Lisa Farmer has resigned from the office of president. Lisa moved and Jill Lager seconded for Katey Kroeger to take over the office of president. All voted aye.
• Work Orders: Baby gate needs fixed, and weed eating is needed around the shelter houses, playgrounds and tennis court.
Items for next agenda include: park equipment, movie night, park board position, pool update, and park update.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at the Rock Port City Park.
