The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, September 19, 2019. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed and approved.
Additions and abatements to the tax books were approved as follows:
Personal Property
August 2019: Additions to the tax books: 2018, $1,081.30; 2017, $52.03. There were no abatements from the personal property tax books.
Real Property
August 2019: There were no additions to or abatements from the real tax books.
Mr. Reed Bartels was in to update the commission on the Outlaw Wind Project. He reported that the final meetings have been held with the landowners and construction is beginning. It will be a 300 MW project with 89 turbine sites consisting of 2 MW – 2.7 MW and 4.2 MW turbines. Clerk Taylor and the commissioners reviewed existing agreements with Mr. Bartels and will forward draft language for the final economic agreement. Mr. Bartels agreed to bring the contractor in to meet the commission. Also discussed was 911 addressing. Mr. Bartels stated they would forward a file to the assessor’s office with all the turbine locations.
There being no further business, the commission adjourned.
