ACDC hosted Careers on Wheels for 51 Atchison County freshmen on Friday, September 27, at the Rock Port City Park. The purpose of this annual event is to introduce students to local careers that function outside of a traditional office setting. This year’s participating businesses and organizations were Atchison-Holt Electric Cooperative, MO Valley Ag, Double M Towing, Atchison County Sheriff’s Office, Midwest Data Center, Groovy’s Grub, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Atchison-Holt Ambulance District, Community Hospital-Fairfax Home Health, Rock Creek Wind Farm, Ottmann Electric, Missouri Department of Conservation, Rock Port Police Department, and Dow Construction & Roofing.

Missouri State Trooper Matt Heits was on hand to explain his job with Aidan Burke, Cameron Oswald, Emily Blum, and Lily Smith.

Tony Stepp, Adam Crawford, Robert Curtis, and Tim Lemmon from Mo Valley Ag in Rock Port talk to the students about the career opportunities available in agriculture.

Tommy Dow of Dow Construction & Roofing, Tarkio, visited with a group of Atchison County freshmen.

Students had the opportunity to speak with representatives of the Missouri Department of Conservation about their job duties.
