Julia Jeanine True, daughter of Hiram Curtis True and Eloise Julia Puckett, was born July 14, 1932, on True Farm near Craig in Holt County, Missouri. She attended both Elk Dale and Lonesome country schools prior to graduating from Fairfax High School in 1949. She went on to receive a BS degree from the University of Illinois (1953) and a Master of Arts from the University of South Florida (1983).

On September 5, 1954, Julia was united in marriage to Raymond Noah at the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church in Craig by Dr. Alfred Martin. The couple moved to Columbia, Missouri, in 1955 and then to Clearwater, Florida, in 1959 where they raised their four children: David Scott, Danny Ray, Deborah Jill, and Douglas True.

Julia began working for Pinellas County Schools in 1968 holding various positions including paraprofessional, librarian, and audio-visual specialist. In 1978 she was hired by the City of Dunedin as a Librarian Assistant III working at the reference desk at the Dunedin Public Library. In 1983 she was promoted to Reference Librarian and in 1986 to Library Director. She retired from the Dunedin Public Library as Library Director in 1994.

Julia was actively involved in all her children’s activities, as well as a host of community groups including Rotary, American Association of University Women, Beta Sigma Phi, American Library Association, and Questers.

Julia was especially proud of her work in the many genealogy organizations to which she belonged. Julia had joined the DAR in Missouri as a Junior in 1952 and it was the DAR that was first in her heart. She became a member of Caladesi Chapter in 1986 and served as recording secretary, historian, vice regent, and regent. She was chapter chairman of Junior American Citizens, Constitution Week, Public Relations, and Insignia.

In addition, she was a member of the National Society of Magna Charta Dames, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, National Society Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America, National Society Women Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, Colonial Order of the Crown, Beta Phi Mu, Phi Kappa Phi and is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women, and Pinellas Genealogy Society. Also, she received a certificate for documenting the lineage for a Coat of Arms of her Armorial Ancestor Robert Bradbury.

Julia passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019, in Largo, Florida, at the age of 87, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Raymond, Julia was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kathryn Eloise Ward; and sisters-in-law, Janet True, Shirley True, and Sandra True. Survivors include her children, David Noah and wife, Kerin, Tampa, Florida, Danny Noah and wife, Gina, Clearwater, Florida, Deborah Noah, Ormond Beach, Florida, and Douglas Noah and wife, Seeta, Oviedo, Florida; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Radigan and husband, Ryan, Julia Ward, Christopher Noah, Raymond Noah, Kendall Ward, Kameela Noah, Julian Noah, Jessica Gaudreau and Jason George; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, H. Jerome True, Rock Port, Everett True, Mesa, Arizona, and Garth True, Claremore, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Monday, October 14, 2019, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, Missouri, conducted by Rev. Will Ratcliff. Interment was at Tharp Cemetery, Craig, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to Tharp Cemetery.
