Fairfax Sorosis met at the home of Debbie Johnson on October 21 to enjoy a program presented by Jo Lynn Shineman. Mrs. Shineman began the meeting by asking if anyone had experience with the website of ancestry.com. The answer was no. The rest of the meeting was about all the ways we have to find out about our heritage. We enjoyed hearing about DNA testing, walks through cemeteries, family keepsakes, old school autograph books, but most of all through records now available on the internet. Everyone had something to add to the conversation and we became so involved that we voted to hold our usual business meeting at the next meeting so we would have more time with Mrs. Shineman.

Debbie was our hostess and we enjoyed a delicious fresh apple pie decorated with two giant raw slices of a huge delicious apple. The next meeting will be at the Methodist Church with Barbara Jones hosting the meeting.
