University of Missouri Extension is offering opportunities in Atchison, Holt and Nodaway counties to learn the ins and outs of the Missouri Sunshine Law.
Public government bodies must follow the Missouri Sunshine Law. These meetings will be a good refresher course for anyone who serves on a public board. The meetings will be taught by Jerry Baker, retired University of Missouri Extension Community Development Specialist. Each meeting is free and course materials will be provided. Each meeting will be the same. You may attend whichever meeting is most convenient for you, even if you serve on a board in a different county.
The first meeting will be held in Maryville at the Nodaway County Administration Center Monday, November 18, at 6:00 p.m. The second meeting will be held in Rock Port at the Velma Houts Fair Building Wednesday, December 4, at 10:00 a.m. The third meeting will be held in Oregon at the Holt County Extension Office Thursday, December 5, at 1:00 p.m.
Registration is encouraged so course materials will be available. You may register by calling the Nodaway County Extension Center at 660-582-8101, or e-mailing nodawayco@missouri.edu.
