A one-vehicle accident sent an Essex, Iowa, man to the hospital with minor injuries Thursday evening, November 14, 2019, in Atchison County, Missouri. The wreck occurred at 6:25 p.m. one-half mile east of Westboro, Missouri, on Hwy. C. A 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup, driven by Mark D. Dinsmore, 60, of Essex was eastbound on Hwy. C when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a bridge twice before coming to rest off the right side of the road. Dinsmore, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa, by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service. The pickup sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Double M Towing of Rock Port, Missouri. The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C.J. Blue, who was assisted by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service.
