Director’s Report–

Heather Pemberton, CPA, began the initial review of ACDC’s financial procedures in October and made suggestions to improve processes.

Bailey helped coordinate a meeting with Amber Barnes (USDA-Rural Development) on October 31 to discuss Community Facilities flood relief loan/grant funding. Several entities attended, but due to the median household income in our county (taken from our current census data), most are only eligible for a small amount of grant funding on applicable projects. Amber underscored the importance of all citizens to complete the 2020 census so an accurate picture of need can be presented, and the county can secure better funding in general.

Bailey attended NREDA’s rural development conference in Kansas City November 6 – 8. Her conference registration was funded by Northwest Roundtable of Economic Developers.

ACDC sponsored events in November include #ShopAC on November 21 and the Youth Professionalism Workshop for Juniors on November 25.

Bailey (in conjunction with Keli Morris, Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation) has met with several new and expanding businesses in the past several weeks. Bailey now serves as the chair of the board of this regional business coaching organization.

New Business–

The board discussed Bailey’s draft of the 2020 budget. It was approved as discussed.

Board members voted to move into executive session.

The meeting returned to regular session and adjourned.
