Tarkio Postmaster Barney Farley will be retiring on Friday, December 20, 2019, after dedicating 34 years to the United States Postal Service. Barney began as a city carrier, delivering mail for 5 1/2 years. He then worked as a clerk, as well as the Postmaster in Westboro and Fairfax, Missouri, then was the Officer in Charge in Rock Port, before becoming the Postmaster in Tarkio.

A Customer Appreciation Day will be held in conjunction with Barney’s retirement. Stop by the Tarkio Post Office (505 Main Street) from 8:00-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-4:00 p.m. and enjoy refreshments and wish Barney farewell.
