The Tarkio 4th through 12th grades performed their Christmas concerts Wednesday evening, December 11, 2019, in the Tarkio High School Gym.
The 5th grade band performed “Warm-Up,” “Merrily,” “Hot Cross Buns,” and “Jingle Bells.” Band members include: flutes – Beth Clark, Delainee White, and Danika Agnew; clarinet – Lexi Brown; saxophones – Velicity Hegstrom, Jeremy Bomar, Danni Irvine, and Chase Pearson; trombones – Bella Bywater, Matthew Vance, Aiden Jimenez, Gavin Mattice, and Aubrey Sachs; trumpets – Teahen Hannah, Dalton Hogue, Finn Hurst, Parker Livengood, Harley Caudill (cadet teacher); and percussion – Brody Wennihan, Grace Caudill, and Brenden Lahart.
The 6th grade band played “Chorale,” “Satin Latin,” “Christmas Magic,” and “Holiday for Basses.” Band members include: flutes – Bresayda Jimenez and Dylan Drummond; clarinets – Robbie Armstrong, Darika Bywater, Zoe Madron, Kaydin Vogler, Kennedy White, and Jaeka Wiley; saxophones – Emily Gebhards, Jina Harbit, Rainy Nordhausen, and Raelee Russell; trumpets – Brayden Smith, Quin Staten, and Carter Wennihan; low brass – Riley Sachs, Olivia Schaefer, and Bella Wallace; and percussion – Bo Peregrine and Isaac Vette.
The 4th, 5th, and 6th graders performed “Holly Jolly Jukebox: ‘Spinning’ December Through the Decades.” The musical is set in the dark attic of our school prior to a Christmas concert. Musical numbers performed, under the direction of Melody Barnett, Amy Haddock, and Lisa Clement, were “Swingin’ Holiday” (1940); “Doo Wop December” (1950); “California Christmas” (1960); “S-A-N-T-A” (1970); “Something to Share” (1980) with Quin Staten as soloist; and “Jingle Bell Jam.” Cast members included: Jukebox – Bo Peregrine; Introductions – Bella Wallace; Aiden – Isaac Vette; Morgan – Zoe Madron; Peyton – Olivia Schaefer; Ryan – Carter Wennihan; Shannon – Dylan Drummond; Taylor – Jaeka Wiley; Dakota – Jina Harbit; Corey – Kale Lekey; Chris – Darika Bywater; Ryan – Jacob Stanton; Hayden – Hunter Blum; Adddison – Kaydin Vogler; Do Wop Girl – Adrienne Phillips; Do Wop Boy – Mason McMahon; Santa Claus – Quin Staten; Logan – Brayden Smith; Rappers – Riley Sachs and Bella Wallace; Garrett – Robbie Armstrong; Riley – Bresayda Jimenez; Reese – Raelee Russell; Pat – Emily Gebhards; Skyler – Britney Ritchie; Drew – Kennedy White; Devin – Jonas Hurst; Surfer – Noah McCoy; Jessie – Riley Sachs; Devin – Gavin Irvine; and Cameron – Rainy Nordhausen. The junior high band performed “Christmas Time with Charlie Brown,” “Candy Cane Clarinets” with high school clarinets joining, and “Chopsticks for Christmas.” The junior high choir members sang “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Let It Snow,” “Yuletide Rhythm,” and “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” Junior high band and choir members include: flutes – Jillian Hannah, Claire Martin, and Aly Wooten; trumpets – Alex Barnett, Sydnee Bruns, Jozee Eaton, Jersi Poppa, and Lizzie Schlueter; clarinets – Savannah Caldwell, Haylee Clark, Abbie Harms, Addie Noland, Tommi Martin, and Madison Quattrocchi; bass clarinet – Brooklyn Wennihan; trombone – Gabe Harms; tuba – Owen DeRosier; percussion – Alexis Bywater, River Dow, Alex Erickson, and Connor Morton; alto saxophones – Cole Anderson, Colton Hall, Emmy Laur, and Luke Morey; and tenor saxophone – Kamryn Brown.
High school guitarists Lexi Somerville and Jaden Clark, along with teacher Amy Haddock, performed “Warrior’s Song” and “The First Noel.” The high school band performed “Home for the Holidays,” “A Christmas Canon,” “Silent Night and All That Jazz!” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” Band members include: flute – Dixie Hendrix; clarinets – Emily Blum, Emilee Caudill, Harley Caudill, Jaden Goodin, and Grace Peck; alto saxophones – Jae Barnett, Matthew Driskell, Brooke Lee, Jesse Navin, and Bryli Staten; tenor saxophone – Anna Klute; baritone saxophone – Morgan Shaw; baritone – Devin Guajardo; trumpets – Faith Anderson, Alexis Gibler, Tessa Rolf, and Aaron Schlueter (who also played the tuba); trombone – Haley Garrison; and percussion – Titus Eaton, Josie King, and Daniel Lesher.
The high school choir finished out the night with “Holiday Road” (from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation), “Rockin’ with Santa,” and “Silent Night.” Choir members include: Alaina Armstrong, Jae Barnett, Hunter Bennett, Harley Caudill, Tyler Donaldson, Haley Garrison, Raelynn Gish, Jaden Goodin, Bo Graves, Devin Guajardo, Katie Hall, Dixie Hendrix, Kelsea Kirwan, Anna Klute, Riley Lekey, Kayden Levendahl, Sophia Martin, Seth Morey, Autumn Murry, Stormy Nordhausen, Hedvig Petersson, Aaron Schlueter, Rylie Simmons, Brianna Smith, Justin Stanton, and Bryli Staten.
