The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) board met December 11, 2019. Present were: Lori Seymour, Craig Corken, W.C. Farmer, Scott Melvin, Eryn Stepp, and Roger Martin, board members; Monica Bailey, director; and Carol Clark, assistant.
Board members voted to approve the minutes and financials as presented.
Director’s Report–
Bailey attended the Tarkio Tech lunch meeting on November 14 and EDF’s Brickyard Hill update meeting on November 20.
#ShopAC was held November 21. Around 200 passports were returned this year (50 more than last year).
Youth Workshop/Career Day for Juniors was held November 25.
ACDC Scholarship applications (due February 28) are now available in each counselor’s office.
2020 Business Improvement Grant applications will be available after January 2 and will be accepted via mail only starting February 1. Applications will be considered in the order they are received.
Heather Pemberton, CPA, has been reviewing ACDC’s financial procedures and will provide a report to the board by the end of this year.
Bailey has been responding to inquiries from state/federal agencies (including the EDA, Interagency Recovery Coordination Group, and University Extension) on the Atchison County flood experience.
OLD BUSINESS–
The board discussed moving the ACDC office to a space that better suits the organization’s needs.
