A one-vehicle accident in Atchison County sent a driver to the hospital with minor injuries January 19, 2020.

A 2020 Dodge Ram, driven by Kyle G. Pierson, 27, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, was heading southbound on F Avenue at 6:50 a.m. when he approached the intersection of 270th. Pierson observed a dirt berm across the roadway and began to brake. The vehicle began to slide on the ice-covered roadway, struck the dirt berm, and became airborne. The vehicle struck the ditch, overturned, and came to rest on its top off the west side of F Avenue facing southeast.

Pierson, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries and was transported by a private vehicle to Community Hospital-Fairfax in Fairfax, Missouri, as a precaution. The 2020 Dodge Ram sustained extensive damage and remained at the scene to be towed.

The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper T.L. Shupe.
