Tarkio Cub Scout Pack 88 enjoyed a special night at the zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, February 1.
On Saturday, February 1, 2020, the Tarkio Cub Scout Pack 88 participated in a “Sleeping Bag Safari” at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. Thirty-seven scouts and parents spent the evening at the zoo, staying in the Hubbard Orangutan facility.
After arriving at the zoo and having a brief orientation, scouts and their parents were led on an evening hike including the orangutan house, Lied Jungle and the lower level of the desert dome. Our hosts shared stories about the animals, how they are cared for and information about the facilities.
Following the hike, snacks were served while a movie was shown. Lights went out at midnight, with an early wake-up call. Breakfast was enjoyed in the cafe over-looking the Lied Jungle and then everyone was out for one last hike in the zoo, including the Scott Aquarium.
