Second Harvest Community Food Bank and Rock Port Ministerial Alliance have opened their No Hunger Summer feeding site to assist youth in need during the summer. No Hunger Summer meals are free to all children under 18, and there is a $1 charge for parents. There are no income requirements. You do not have to be a resident of Rock Port to participate.
Grab-and-go meals will be handed out through July 17, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Rock Port UMC is located at 211 W. Opp Street. Meals will also be delivered to the Watson United Methodist Church Monday – Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Participants are asked to call or text your weekly lunch count every Monday by 9:00 a.m. so enough food can be available. Call the Rock Port UMC at 660-744-2101 or call/text Andrea Cook at 660-253-0460.
The menu for June 3 – 10 will be:
June 3 – Soft taco on whole-grain wrap, salsa, lettuce, shredded cheese, corn chips, apple, milk
June 4 – Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, two cheese sticks, carrots with ranch dressing, chips, grapes, milk
June 5 – Chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, corn, corn chips, apple, milk
June 8 – Hot dog on a bun, chips, corn, apple, mixed fruit, milk
June 9 – Turkey and cheese on whole-grain bread, carrots with ranch dressing, chips, orange, milk
June 10 – Hamburger on a whole-grain bun, corn, mixed fruit, milk
