The Atchison County Commission met Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were reviewed and approved.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Adam Meyer was in to discuss department matters.
The commissioners met with Atchison County Health Director Aron Burke, Atchison County Health Administrator Julie Livengood, Atchison County Sheriff Dennis Martin and Atchison County Emergency Management Director Rhonda Wiley. They continued to discuss the use of the CARES funding in Atchison County.
Ann Schlueter and Harold Lawrence, both with Community Hospital-Fairfax, joined by conference call to assist with working out details that would allow the Atchison County Health Department, the county and Community Hospital-Fairfax to work together to perform COVID-19 serology testing in Atchison County.
AC Health Administrator Julie Livengood will get needed documentation about CDC guidelines showing what information the hospital can share with the health department. Clerk Taylor and Administrator Livengood will work together on a waiver that citizens can sign to participate in the serology testing if offered.
