Atchison County dancers recently competed in the Dance Out national dance competition held in Kansas City, Missouri. The dancers were very busy and very successful in their competitions:

Sisters Avery Schomburg and Zoe Madron performed very well at the Dance Out National Dance Competition held in Kansas City, Missouri.

• “I’ll Leave The Light On” lyrical solo earned platinum and 1st overall.
• “Cheetah Girls Remix” hip hop group earned platinum and 3rd overall.
• “I Lived” lyrical duo with Brynlee earned platinum and 2nd overall.
• “It’s Raining Men” jazz duo with Brynlee earned platinum and 3rd overall.
• “Skinny Love” lyrical duo with Piper earned platinum and 1st Overall.
• “Dolls” jazz group earned Platinum, 4th overall, and “Cute Concept” Judge’s Award.
Avery was invited back to compete in the Showdown with her “I’ll Leave the Light On” and “Skinny Love” performances and placed 2nd with both routines.

• “Wonderland” jazz group earned gold, placed 3rd overall, and brought home the Choreography Award.
• “Like Me” hip hop group earned gold and placed 1st overall
• “Movement” lyrical solo earned gold
• “Fire” clogging group earned Platinum, 1st overall, and the Costume Award
• “Galway Girl” clogging duo with Kambree earned platinum and placed 5th overall.
• “Wow” hip hop duo with Paige earned gold and placed 5th overall.
• “Sister Rosetta” tap group earned gold, placed 1st overall, and earned the Entertainment Award.

Declan McRaven and Adrianna Wallace performed a jazz duo to Aladdin’s “Friend Like Me” at the national dance competition.

Alley Sharpless of Rock Port performed in the “Cheetah Girls Remix” small hip hop group at the dance competition.

Sisters Jacoby Driskell and Kambrie Driskell of Rock Port competed together and individually in the dance competition.

• “Applause“ jazz routine earned 3rd overall in the Intermediate Pre-Teen Division. She also received a full scholarship to a Contour Dance Workshop in October.
• “O Come to the Altar” lyrical dance with sister Kambrie Driskell in the Junior Duo/Trio division and they won 1st place overall.

• “Let’s Bounce” jazz routine earned platinum and 2nd place overall for Intro Petite and then made it to the final showdown to re-compete and won her first Intro Petite National Showdown Championship, which also earned $75 towards Danceout regionals next year.
• “O Come to the Altar” lyrical dance with sister Jacoby Driskell in the Junior Duo/Trio division and they won 1st place overall.
