September 21, 1945
• Temporary yards have been constructed north of the Tarkio Elevator for the handling of livestock for Murphy Hog Yards. Harry Murphy, the buyer, reports that a hog barn is in the process of being built. New and modern scales are to be installed.
• Word has been received that Rev. and Mrs. Carl Branstrom have returned from China where they had been doing missionary work. The Rev. Branstrom graduated from Tarkio College, class of 1940.
• Oil drilling on Tarkio College property will begin this weekend when Dan Short, independent operator, will drill a test well across the road north from the campus on the college track field.
September 24, 1970
• The Reverend Ralph A. Durham has been named administrator by Bethesda Geriatric Foundation, managers of Northview Manor in Tarkio. He and his wife will make their home in Tarkio.
• Mistakes, penalties, and injuries were the name of the game for the Tarkio Indians last Friday night as South Holt defeated them 6-18. For Tarkio, it was the first conference loss in 22 games.
• The first play of the season at Tarkio College’s Mule Barn Theatre will be “Man of La Mancha,” opening on October 28 and playing through November 1, and playing the following week November 4 through 8.
• Dr. Eldon E. Breazier will be inaugurated as the seventh president of Tarkio College in activities to be held on the college campus during the last weekend in October.
September 21, 1995
• Funds were raised over the recent weekend, September 16 and 17, for the “Our New Pool” project in Tarkio. A slow pitch softball tournament and barbecue pork feed raised $976.25 for the new pool.
• The Tarkio Indians won 22-0 over Hamilton in the football home opener September 15. The Tarkio Academy Generals won their football season opener September 11, 16-0 over the Maysville, Missouri, junior varsity. The Tarkio High School Volleyball squad won the Shenandoah, Iowa, Tournament September 9. The Tarkio Lady Golfers defeated Savannah 212 to 218 September 12.
